no.15 On Library 2.0 and Web 2.0

i had to have a long hard think about this one. Where do i see libraries going in the future? As the technological age continues I can see us using the internet and other online databases alot more. Podcasts, Rss, blogs ..etc. Working in a library for over 10 years i have seen gradual changes in technology..only recently we stopped using Floppy disc drives on pcs. Do I see us doing away with books altogether?.. Maybe, but not for a very long time.

What you call "gradual" changes, I call rapid changes - it must be that you Generation Y people are so used to change that you take it for granted, while Baby Boomers like me are still hesitant to accept change!

I thnik we have got over our biggest change and that is moving from a completely linear way of doing things (with paper and pen of course... my first pen at primary school was a dip pen ..nib in the ink!!) to an online environment. We have all learnt how to use a mouse and the Internet...compared to that Web 2.0 is a walk in the park
